Steve Baker Interviews Doug Van Pelt - Pt. 1, ”The Music”

This interview will be very different for TPC followers. Doug Van Pelt for over 25 years helmed the successful Christian heavy metal and hard music magazine, Heaven's Metal. (Later, HM Magazine.) Our career paths in that industry first crossed back in the 80s. This conversation is raw and unedited, and covers stories both spiritual and secular. We are literally catching up on each other's lives at his own dining room table as Doug shares his own journey though such a unique subsegment of the music business, but we also talk about a few of the 100+ interviews he had with mainstream metal acts like Henry Rollins and Rob Halford of Judas Priest. We talk about how music has changed, and many of the key figures and events from the earliest days of the explosion of Christian metal on the music scene. We also save a great story about his own band, Lust Control, for the very end.
